Premium .club Domains Making Almost $5 Million in Sales

.club premium names had an impressive start in 2017 as sales figures for the first quarter show. .club is a new gTLD which first launched in 2014 and is now managed by the registry Club Domains LLC to serve the domain needs of any interest clubs. Many brands started using it and there has been a steady increase in premium sales.

In 2016 premium domains generated about $1 mln in sales while the highest priced domain in the last quarter sold at $8,760. 06 — k8.club.

Sales for 2017 continue this trend. So far, 475 premium names have been sold totalling $500,000 via auctions, registrars, and aftermarket platforms. GoDaddy was the most popular .club registrar with 197 sales. The most expensive domains amounted to $18,000 — pet.club and seniours.club followed by photo. club at $10,000.

The overall .club premium sales since its launch thus reached over $4,844,000. The premium fee applies one-time only; domains are renewed at the regular, lower registration fee.

2017 also saw the launch of a broker program and interest-free payment plans designed to make premium domains more accessible to entrepreneurs and small businesses.

It is estimated that 1/3 of all two-letter .club domains are already sold for an average price of $4,020.15. 442 two-letter names remain available.
