As of 1 February 2017 prices for .net domain name registrations, renewals and transfers will increase by $1. This is due to a 10% increase by VeriSign, the .net registry operator. Depending on their own current pricing, it is likely that other domain registrars will also adjust it to take into account the new increase.
Therefore, it makes sense to try and renew or transfer your .net domains before 1 February, especially if your .net domain portfolio is thick. Once the price change goes into effect, it won’t be possible to retroactively price domains.
