GoDaddy will acquire Host Group Europe in a $1.79 Billion Deal

On 6 December 2016 GoDaddy was confirmed to acquire Host Group Europe (HEG), the largest privately owned web services provider whose brands include well-known host providers and domain registrars 123Reg, Domain Monster, Domain Factory, and Host Europe. It also owns NamesCon, the largest domain industry conference launched in 2014. GoDaddy announced that it will manage these brands independently and invest in their further growth.

GoDaddy added that uniting forces with HEG will accelerate its European expansion by offering broader range of cloud-based products.

HEG is currently owned by private equity Cinven which acquired it in 2013.

The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2017.
